I was extremely curious but deeply ambivalent about the Tenga Spinner, a masturbator which, when stroked, rotates inside of itself. It has to do a lot to live up to that core promise, so I wasn’t fully convinced from the get-go. After trying it out (multiple times, in fact), I’m happy to report: this toy is not overrated. In fact, this is among the best reviews of a male masturbator because the Tenga Spinner is as advertised. In a well-designed, sleek package lies an incredibly easy to use male toy with a unique internal mechanism that actually works as advertised and a new sensation for users.

It comes in a few different styles, each of which has a different internal texture pattern: PIXEL, BEADS, BRICK, TETRA, and others. Each varies somewhat in how they feel and their “tightness.” I used the BEADS for this review, which is a tighter grooved texture with a firmer feel than some of the others.
What’s Included
- One reusable Tenga Spinner masturbator (BEADS in my case)
- Sample packet of Tenga brand lubricant
- Integrated drying stand (built into the plastic case)
Pretty minimal, but Tenga isn’t over-complicating anything here. The entire package also functions as a closed storage system for the toy and a stand to dry it in post-use. Clean. Simple. Discreet.
Build & Materials

The Spinner is constructed from a hyper-elastic elastomer and has an internal spiral coil that produces the twisting sensation as you use it. The coil itself is tight but flexible and the closed-end nature of the Spinner builds a suction effect as you stroke.
The outer shell is pretty firm but has a good enough grip. The inside, on the other hand, is made of variable geometric patterns that excite and stimulate. The BEADS, for example, is a highly structured, ridged block that really gets into your skin.
All components are body-safe, phthalate-free and manufactured in Japan, which really shows with the clean quality control and consistent standards.
Performance (Real World Use)
So how does the Spinner feel? Well…it’s unlike any other toy out there, that’s for sure. Literally twists inside of itself as you stroke. It doesn’t sound like much when you first read it, but the internal twisting motion that occurs is surprising and quite strong. The amount of friction in the BEADS version adds to this sensation but it’s also smooth enough to not be bothersome (with Tenga lube, of course).
The closed end also creates a vacuum pressure of sorts that amplifies the entire experience, adding another dimension. This all makes it a more full-body, immersive and tangible sensation.
While each version of the Spinner masturbator has very similar overall feel due to this internal mechanism, the actual texture and tighter-ness of the internal sleeve differs and is a factor in overall sensation.
PIXEL is looser in fit and great for a thicker girth
BEADS has more dense protrusions or nubs
BRICK is a more rigid and blockier experience
Those that enjoy twisting and rotating sensations and a tighter fit and texture will be really pleased with how the Spinner performs.
How I’m Using It
Following is how I used my Tenga Spinner for this review (BEADS):

Step 1: Lubrication: I used Tenga’s lube here for best results. Squeeze some into the opening and along the end.
Step 2: Remove Air: Carefully get rid of the extra air by turning upside down. Do this a few times before inserting to maximize vacuum and avoid losing lube.
Step 3: Insertion and play: Placed toy on the tip and slowly moved it in. Use long strokes initially, then experiment with the speed. Twisting really increases as you go faster.
Step 4: Cleanup: Rinse under warm water, invert slowly to avoid soap pools, then let dry on included stand.
Features That Stand Out
- Internal Twisting Coil: It really, actually twists with each stroke
- Spinner Textures: Different versions with their own feel
- Reusable: Easy cleaning and re-use multiple times
- Built-in Stand and Closed Case: Dries and stores well with nice, simple design
- Small and Discreet: Ideal for travel and no need to charge
- Cleaning and Maintenance
Easy to clean due to only being open at one end. I also found it helpful to minimize cleanup mess, as well. Just wash with warm water, soap and let it dry fully on the provided stand. The stand inverts the Spinner slightly so avoid inverting the toy itself inside-out as this could damage the internal twisting coil.

Drew (BEADS) — “Got this as my first male toy and it has completely changed the game for me. It actually twists. It’s enjoyable to watch it do that. So, so fun to feel it do that.”
Mashhoud (BRICK) — “The best Tenga item I have used. Use their lube or it’s a waste. Buy their lube and have the absolute craziest time of your life.”

Bottom Line
The Tenga Spinner is not a gimmick, but a triumph of masturbator design. It takes everything that you expect from a standard male stroker and throws a curveball into the mix. Literally. With multiple versions of internal textures, a solid reusable build, and a unique twisting pleasure with every stroke, this is one of the best non-electric male toys I’ve tested this year.
Get it if you want something fun, affordable, and refreshingly different from your average male masturbator.
